London Opera trip - 2004
We took a midweek break in London to see English National Opera perform La Boheme. It had been planned to take place in Trafalgar Square, which had been covered with astroturf for the evening. However, being a typical British summer evening - gales up to 60mph and torrential rain - the opera had to be transferred indoors. So no pictures of that, but here's some of the things we did see

Darryl standing with one foot in the East and one in the West at the Greenwich Meridian

The Millennium Clock at Greenwich which counted down the seconds to the turn of 2000 and now counts the seconds since
And then Stuart took his turn with the tourists and stood astride the meridian line

Buckingham Palace was full of the wealthy and the worthy, as it was the same day the Diana Memorial Fountain had been officially opened in Hyde Park
Victoria memorial, outside Buck House and taxis waiting to take the Queen's guests home again

View from the Victoria Memorial toward Big Ben - and a London pigeon in mid-flight

On the square outside of the Houses of Parliament, Stuart pondering how to work the camera .......
..... and succeeded, as this is Darryl on the same square
I see no ships .... just a few tourist boats and a London bus
We'd taken a boat trip down the Thames to Greenwich and here are the views from the Royal Observatory over the City of London ......

..... and to the Millennium Dome ....

... and, of course, the Tower of London and Traitor's Gate

And here's a full panorama from the Royal Observatory looking north over the City of London. Quite a large file so it may take some time to load!
