Manchester Pride 2008 provided another stunning spectacle for the large crowd that lined the streets. The parade was led by a hundred or so (maybe more) police from not only the Greater Manchester force but many surrounding forces. When still there are still many people who can recall the dark days of James Anderton being Manchester's Chief Constable and guys being threatened with court appearances for merely holding hands in public - such a sight brought a proud tear to the eye.

And even the UK's rotten summer weather of 2008 took a break and we managed some sunshine. All in all it took about an hour and a half to pass by any spot on the route. A grand day out!
